Rehabilitation Projects

New York City is a dense, urban environment that requires ongoing architectural attention to existing buildings. In ten years, our firm has successfully completed over 500 rehabilitation projects in upcoming and established neighborhoods all over the City. Buildings go through a process of being gutted to their exterior shell and then adapted and redesigned to suit contemporary residential and commercial requirements and needs. The interior layouts and engineering are completely upgraded while the building facades, which are integral to the cityscape, are maintained.

When buildings possess historic features and other noteworthy detailing, these elements are maintained and restored. This firm has completed numerous projects located in Landmark Districts or other special districts giving public presentations of design proposals where required. PM Architecture has worked extensively with several agencies of the City of New York, including HPD and HUD. Project sizes vary from large buildings of up to 150 apartments to smaller two-family dwellings.
